FAVELA
O MUF tem por objetivo preservar a memória da comunidade, promovendo a conexão entre os moradores e a cultura local. Dissolvendo as barreiras entre a favela e o asfalto, o MUF deseja transformar essa comunidade em um Monumento Turístico e Cultural Carioca da História de Formação das Favelas; das origens culturais do Samba; da Cultura do Migrante Nordestino; da Cultura Negra; das Artes Visuais e da Dança.
O MUF foi o primeiro Ponto de Memória registrado pelo IBRAM Instituto Brasileiro de Museus. Participa também da Rede de Museologia Social do Rio de Janeiro, que tem como objetivo promover a conexão e a troca de experiências entre comunidades populares, movimentos sociais e instituições que atuam no campo da memória, patrimônio e cultura.
Todas as ações do MUF têm por temas transversais as memórias da comunidade e a cultura local com intenção educativa, libertária pela expansão da consciência e pela chance de inclusão produtiva, em especial entre adolescentes sujeitos a caminhos de vulnerabilidade social.
A expansão cultural na/da favela deve ser como um sopro de despertar. Deve ultrapassar os limites do território e alcançar a cidade à qual pertence, numa celebração itinerante que divulgue o acervo e os valores do MUSEU DE FAVELA, em outras favelas, em outras cidades, em outros países. Favela é Cidade. Cultura de Favela é parte da Cultura da Cidade.
The MUF aims to preserve the community’s memory by promoting the connection between residents and local culture. Dissolving the barriers between the favela and the asphalt, MUF wants to transform this community into a Carioca Tourist and Cultural Monument in the History of the Formation of the Favelas; the cultural origins of Samba; the Northeastern Migrant Culture; of Black Culture; of Visual Arts and Dance.
MUF was the first Memory Point registered by IBRAM Brazilian Institute of Museums. It also participates in the Rio de Janeiro Social Museology Network, which aims to promote the connection and exchange of experiences between popular communities, social movements and institutions that work in the field of memory, heritage and culture.
All MUF actions have as cross-cutting themes the memories of the community and the local culture with educational intent, libertarian due to the expansion of conscience and the chance of productive inclusion, especially among adolescents subject to paths of social vulnerability.
Cultural expansion in the favela must be like a breath of awakening. It must cross the boundaries of the territory and reach the city to which it belongs, in a traveling celebration that discloses the collection and values of the Favela Museum, in other slums, in other cities, in other countries. Favela is City. Favela Culture is part of the City Culture.
